15 of us (13 adults, 2 kids, and 1 baby) came together to chat and mend. It was the last Mending Evening of the year, so I was so happy to see so many people join.
- 2 pairs of baby wool trousers (knit) were mended by needle-felting lilac colored wool by Mandy. One pair had a hole in the back, one at the knee.
- An inner seam on a 1 pair of black sports shorts was sewn back together using the sewing machine by Bart. It was elastic + thin mesh. A difficult mend, but successful!
- A seam on a black summer skirt was sewn back together using the sewing machine by Scarlet. The fabric was flowy and thin, so it was not easy, but Scarlet was successful!
- A gray T-shirt with multiple holes in the sleeve. Tati is adding a patch using hand stitching and the sewing machine.
- A pair of soft home-wear pants is being patched by Sameera using yellow thread to hand-sew on a colorful cotton fabric.
- Asher mended a hole in a checkered shirt by neatly sewing the edges, adding a blue patch, and adding red stitches to frame it.
- Naomi mended a thin black sweater by needle-felting natural wool on the holes. The sweater had many holes, and now most of the holes are covered with beautiful felt inspired by mold.
- Zhizhong re-felted the bottom of a second-hand figure of a Dutch Book Store.
- Some were there to spend time and support our partner and family.
